KJRH, Ch. 2, Tulsa, OK
Background and Distinctions KJRH has an impressive list of "firsts" in the Tulsa area: first television station in Tulsa to broadcast in color, first to broadcast in stereo, first to hire an accredited meteorologist and implement Doppler radar, first to broadcast a news story from a remote site and first to hire a female news director. The station adopted its call letters in 1980 to honor Jack R. Howard, chairman of Scripps Broadcasting. Over the past several years, the station has consistently received recognition for its efforts, including Public Service Awards and Oklahoma Associated Press Awards for its news, sports and weather programming. |
