Background and Distinctions KZSD was launched as an Azteca America affiliate in 1997. The station is known as Azteca San Diego 15 as it is carried locally on channel 15 on cable networks and on digital channel 10-15 with sister station KGTV. Providing the best of Mexican television network TV Azteca, Azteca America is one of the fastest growing Hispanic networks in the United States. With over a 30% Hispanic population, San Diego is home to many Mexican-Americans which is reflected in the station branding “Es tu hogar” – “It’s your home.” Backed by the resources of 10News, Azteca San Diego 15 provides news, weather, sports and community updates throughout the day between programming. The station supports community initiatives that help further the opportunities of the Hispanic community across San Diego. |
