Teen Media

The Teen Media broadcast program, offered in cooperation with WMAR -TV in Baltimore brings 12 high school students into the station to learn the mechanics of broadcasting, ethics, research, the First Amendment, job options and professionalism. Throughout a seven-month course, students spend their Saturdays learning how to -- and then produce -- a monthly student-focused half-hour news program. Students also participate in seminars and hear from professionals about general assignment reporting, news editing, graphics, promotion and public affairs. Students pursing journalism careers are eligible for college scholarships.

For information about the program, contact Maria Mager, creative services director, WMAR-TV at 410-372-2461 or maria.mager@wmar.com
