Schuermann started with Scripps in 1998 as a senior auditor in the audit and consulting services department. He was promoted to director of treasury management in 2002. Before joining Scripps, Schuermann held internal audit positions with Fifth Third Bank and US Bank.

He currently serves on the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati. Schuermann also is a member of the Investment Committee for People Working Cooperatively. He also serves as a reading tutor for Oyler Elementary School in Lower Price Hill.

He has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Xavier University. He is a local and national member of the Association of Financial Professionals. He is also a Certified Treasury Professional.
