Senior Vice President/National Media
Laura Tomlin, 43, is senior vice president of the National Media division for Scripps. She oversees a collection of growing businesses that capitalize on changing consumer media habits; expand the company’s footprint internationally; and diversify Scripps’ portfolio of media brands.
As head of the National Media division, Laura is responsible for next-generation national news network Newsy; podcast industry leader Stitcher; the global leader in digital audio technology and measurement services, Triton; Simplemost Media’s lifestyle and humor brands; the award-winning Scripps Washington Bureau, with its national investigative reporting team and podcast productions; and one of the nation’s most iconic competitions, the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
In her previous role as vice president of digital business operations, Laura was responsible for executing the digital strategy for Scripps’ local media brands in partnership with the television division. Her responsibilities included working with various leaders to ensure success in building a robust digital business. She served on the previous digital division’s senior leadership team since its inception, creating the human resources function for the division and then moving into a leadership role in operations.
Laura joined Scripps in 2010 to launch internal recruiting to support the enterprise. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Laura is on the board of the Hamilton County Special Olympics and is a graduate of Leadership Cincinnati.
