CINCINNATI, Ohio – The E. W. Scripps Company and Knight-Ridder, Inc. today completed their previously announced exchange of newspapers in California and Colorado.Through the transaction, which was first announced July 25, Scripps traded the Monterey County (CA) Herald and San Luis Obispo (CA) Telegram-Tribune for Knight-Ridder’s Boulder (CO) Daily Camera.The E. W. Scripps Company operates nine television stations; daily newspapers in 15 markets; United Media, a worldwide syndicator and licensor of news features and comics; two television production companies, Scripps Howard Productions and Cinetel Productions; and the Home & Garden Television network. Scripps has announced an agreement to acquire the daily newspapers, the television station and radio station now operated by Harte-Hanks Communications.
