Scripps sells $100 million of 7-year notes

CINCINNATI – The E. W. Scripps Company today completed the public offering of $100 million of 4.25% Notes due 2009. The company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering to repay a portion of its outstanding commercial paper obligations.The E.W. Scripps Company is a diverse media concern with interests in newspaper publishing, broadcast television, national television networks, interactive media and television-retailing. Scripps operates 21 daily newspapers, 10 broadcast TV stations, four cable and satellite television programming services and a home shopping network.
