Schuermann elected assistant treasurer at Scripps

CINCINNATI – The board of directors of The E. W. Scripps Company has elected Mark F. Schuermann to the officer-level position of assistant treasurer. The promotion is effective immediately.   Schuermann started with Scripps in 1998 as a senior auditor in the audit and consulting services department.  He was promoted to director of treasury management in 2002.     "Scripps has experienced rapid growth in recent years, and Mark has helped us implement cutting-edge programs and practices to make sure our treasury and banking operations adjust with the changes," said John Wolfzorn, vice president and treasurer of The E. W. Scripps Company. "He has played an increasingly crucial role in our banking relationships and debt-portfolio areas, and that growing influence will accelerate with this promotion.”   Schuermann, 34, has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Xavier University. He is active in the Association of Finance Professionals, where he has made presentations on several treasury/banking topics at local and national conventions. He is a Certified Treasury Professional.   He and his wife, Brandi, live in Liberty Township with their 3 sons.   About Scripps The E.W.
