JEFF VAUGHN JOINS ‘NBC ACTION NEWS TODAY’ MORNING TEAM

(Kansas City, Missouri)– KSHB-TV News Director Debbie Bush announces the hire of Jeff Vaughn as Morning News Anchor/ Reporter. Vaughn will co-anchor for "NBC Action News Today," KSHB’s morning newscast. Previously, Vaughn was a general assignment reporter and weekend morning anchor at WDIV-TV, the NBC affiliate in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to that, Jeff was an anchor and reporter at KCBD-TV in Lubbock, Texas and KMID-TV in Midland, Texas.

"Before turning to television, Jeff worked in morning newstalk radio and understands the time period—what people want to hear while they are drinking their morning coffee," says Bush. "He loves the Midwest and is really glad to be home."

Jeff has won numerous awards for broadcast excellence. In 2005, he won a regional

EMMY Award for anchoring WDIV's weekend morning newscast. He has also been honored by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, the Texas Associated Press and the Kansas Association of Broadcasters

"Jeff will be a great addition to our news team of Sally Moore and Brett Anthony," says Craig Allison, Vice-President and General Manager of KSHB-TV. "He is a seasoned news professional with Kansas roots. I know morning news viewers will welcome his warm and informative style."

 

Working in Kansas City is a homecoming for Jeff. He was raised in Arkansas City, Kansas and is a graduate of Kansas State University.
