NBC ACTION WEATHER PLUS TEAM CERTIFIED KANSAS CITY’S MOST ACCURATE FORECAST

(Kansas City, Missouri)-  For the fourth consecutive year, KSHB-TV’s NBC Action Weather Plus team has been certified most accurate in Kansas City.  The study was done by WeatheRate, Inc, the only independent weather forecast verification company in the nation.

"We are trying to change the image of the weather forecaster,” said Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak. “As Kansas City turns to NBC Action News they have a weather forecast that can be counted on. Day in and day out, we are Kansas City’s weather leader."

Everyday, WeatheRate reviews the forecast from each local television station to determine whose forecast is most accurate.  Through a series of mathematical calculations, WeatheRate determines the best daily, weekly and monthly forecast. They then award that station their seal of approval.

"All of the passion, commitment and dedication of Gary Lezak and the NBC Action Weather Plus team continue to pay off for our viewers,” added Craig Allison, Vice President and General Manager of KSHB-TV and KMCI-TV.  “To be rated most accurate for four years in a row is truly remarkable."  To generate an impartial perspective, WeatheRate funds its own research using a patent-pending process. It is important to note that television stations do not pay to participate in the surveys.

Bruce Fixman, President of WeatheRate, Inc said, “Only a handful of TV stations across the country have come out on top every year since we began verifying weather forecast accuracy four years ago.  Gary and the NBC Action Weather Plus team have proven again and again to be the best in Kansas City.  Congratulations!”
