NBC ACTION NEWS NAMED BEST NEWSCAST BY THE MISSOURI BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION

(Kansas City, Missouri)- KSHB-TV, Kansas City’s NBC Action News Station, has been named Best Overall Newscast by the Missouri Broadcasters Association. In addition, the station was awarded Best Spot News for their coverage of the chemical fire at ChemCentral on February 7, 2007.

“We are very proud and honored the Missouri Broadcasters thought our newscast and spot news coverage was the best among all St. Louis and Kansas City stations,” says NBC Action News Director Debbie Bush. “The men and women of NBC Action News work very hard to provide excellent coverage to the Kansas City viewers. We appreciate the recognition.”

KSHB-TV also took home a Certificate for Merit for Best Investigation. NBC Action News Investigator Keith King went undercover to nail metro car thieves in “License to Steal.”

Craig Allison, Vice President and General Manager of KSHB-TV and KMCI-TV said "It's always rewarding to be recognized by your peers but especially when it's in two such important areas…news excellence and breaking news coverage."

In all, KSHB-TV won four Missouri Broadcasters Association awards.
