Aug. 22, 2007

(Kansas City, Missouri)–  KSHB-TV/KMCI-TV Vice President and General Manager Craig Allison announced the hiring of Christa Dubill today as co-anchor for “NBC Action News Today.”  She joins Jeff Vaughn, meteorologist Brett Anthony and traffic reporter Major Miles weekdays from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. beginning September 17th.

“We are very excited to have Christa join the NBC Action News team” said Allison. “With her professional experience, personality and Midwest roots, I think Christa will be a big hit with Kansas City morning news viewers.”

Currently, Dubill is the 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. news anchor at WKOW in Madison, Wisconsin.   Prior to that, Christa anchored at KCAU in Sioux City, Iowa.  Dubill started her career here at KSHB-TV where she worked the overnight Assignment Desk. She also interned at the station while attending the University of Kansas.

Dubill stated, “There’s truly no place like home! I am excited to be back in the Kansas City metro and look forward to spending mornings with the NBC Action News Today viewers, and afternoons and evenings with my family.”

Working in Kansas City is a homecoming for Christa.  She was raised in Independence, Kansas and later graduated from KU.  When she’s not working, Christa enjoys spending time with her husband David, son Andrew and her English bulldog, Jed.  Christa is involved in the March of Dimes, American Red Cross and several other non-profit organizations.
